Louise Pain from leitrim based business Sweet Temptations Cakes, who specialise in Wedding cakes and personalised novelty celebration cakes, returned home with a Silver award from the Cork Sugarcraft Associations national competition last weekend. Louise entered two wedding cakes, one which was a traditional cake which had roses and petals and the other was a novelty wedding cake, which had a skydiving theme with the bride and groom plumeting towards the church they are about to be married in. It was the novelty cake which won the Silver award and Louise was delighted as all of her hard work paid off. Unfortunately the traditional cake didn’t quite make the awards which was a little upsetting but still i think it is a unique design that i am happy with and also recieved numerous positive comments from the visitors to the show. I am delighted with how the competition went and these events are great for me to be able to experiment and indulge myself in new and exciting designs. I am already looking forward to the next competition at Cake International in Birmingham in November and will be upping my game to get those all important Gold awards once again.
