Custom Design Christmas Cake

We are now taking orders for Christmas cakes which are available in a range of sizes and designs. Our Christmas cakes proved to be very popular last year so we are advising you to pre-order your cakes to avoid disappointment and to secure your chosen design and size of cake. You can collect your christmas cake from us in Keshcarrigan or at one of the local events we will be attending on the run up to christmas (King house, Boyle 7th, 8th and 9th of December and at the Dock in Carrick on Shannon on the 15th and 16th of December). A range of designs are available in festive colours red, green, blue, white with candle, reindeer, christmas tree’s, snowmen etc all made from icing. All cakes will be finished with christmas ribbon and come packaged in a christmas cake box, making them perfect for presents. As Well as our standard range, we of course can also make custom designed christmas cakes with decoration of your choice, and also, if fruit cake is not your thing then we can make your favourite cake fresh the week before christmas. Mmmmm Biscuit cake…….

We also have a few new ideas for 2012 including decorated chocolate biscuit cake christmas puddings and festively decorated cupcakes.

Sweet Temptations Cakes will be attending the Wedding Journal Show LIVE! 2011, at the Citywest Hotel Convention Centre, Dublin, On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of September. We will have a variey of new display cakes for you to look at and Louise will be on hand to talk to and discuss your ideas and designs. With around 10,000 visitors expected over the weekend it is expected to be one of the busiest wedding shows in the country. Sweet Temptations Cakes !!!NEEDS YOU!!! We are soon to be launching our new range of cupcakes and are looking for some inspiring new flavours and we are looking for your help. We have lots of ideas ourselves and already have some great tasting cupcakes but we are looking to expand our current range with some very interesting and different flavours. So if you think of your favourite ice cream such as (mint choc chip, raspberry ripple or a 99 with a flake) or your favourite desert (banoffe pie, rhubarb and custard or lemon meringue). Maybe you would like to go off the wall with it like (chocolate and chilli, toffee apple or strawberry daiquiri). The choice is yours and we would love to hear your ideas no matter how crazy they might be! Leitrim Business Sweet Temptations Cakes Gets Awarded

Louise Pain from leitrim based business Sweet Temptations Cakes, who specialise in Wedding cakes and personalised novelty celebration cakes, returned home with a Silver award from the Cork Sugarcraft Associations national competition last weekend. Louise entered two wedding cakes, one which was a traditional cake which had roses and petals and the other was a novelty wedding cake, which had a skydiving theme with the bride and groom plumeting towards the church they are about to be married in. It was the novelty cake which won the Silver award and Louise was delighted as all of her hard work paid off. Unfortunately the traditional cake didn’t quite make the awards which was a little upsetting but still i think it is a unique design that i am happy with and also recieved numerous positive comments from the visitors to the show. I am delighted with how the competition went and these events are great for me to be able to experiment and indulge myself in new and exciting designs. I am already looking forward to the next competition at Cake International in Birmingham in November and will be upping my game to get those all important Gold awards once again.

Cork Sugarcraft Association national competition and exhibition 2011

Gold Award B'ham 2010

The show will be taking place on 2nd & 3rd April 2011 at the Radisson Hotel, Little Island, Cork. Competition classes will include wedding cakes, sugar flowers, novelty carved cakes, sugarpaste cakes, and miniature exhibits. These will be judged by accredited British Sugarcraft Guild Judges, the best in the profession, ensuring that the same standards are met as at any other event. Louise will be entering two wedding cakes, one of which will be a novelty themed wedding cake and the other a traditional wedding cake. We are hoping for the same success as in Birmingham last November where Louise won two gold awards and a first place in category, so the pressure is on to create two more fantastic cakes. There will be plenty of demonstrations and classes over the weekend and there will also be traders selling the very best and latest in sugarcraft equipment. Louise is now making the last adjustments to the designs which will remain a secret until just before the show (sorry guys but this is serious stuff…!!). She is looking forward to the show and it is a great experience to be involved such a competition. “These exhibitions and competitions are a great place to get inspiration, learn new skills and techniques and fill me with enthusiasm“. The show only happens once every two years and is one of only two competitions in Ireland which are judged by the British Sugarcraft Guild, the other is held in Dublin and is also, only held once every two years (next year). So with a bit of luck we will be bringing back the gold to Leitrim once again.

Sweet Temptations Cakes

Louise from local business Sweet Temptations Cakes in Keshcarrigan Co,Leitrim, was commissioned to create a cake for 102-104 I Radio to celebrate their 3rd Birthday. The festivities took place at Pure Nightclub in Sligo last Friday and I Radio were broadcasting live from the venue. The party was themed “Feel The Love” in conjunction with Valentines day and their was a black and white dress code for all the party goers. Louise created a four tier cake in keeping with the black and white, Valentines theme and comprised of three different flavours,
vanilla sponge, chocolate sponge and everyones favourite chocolate biscuit cake. Louise delivered the cake live on air and ended up in the hot seat with I Radios Fergal Darcy. Louise comented ” this was my first radio interview and to say i was nervous would be an understatement, but Fergal was great and he was really enthusiastic about the cake and wanted to know how i made it, which was a great help in taking my mind of the fact i was live on air with thousands of people listening in”

The celebrations kicked off with live outside broadcasts form Pure from early afternoon on Friday , one of the highlights of a truly memorable day was the presentation of an amazing birthday cake created by Louise and Andy from Sweet Temptations in Leitrim. The following morning the i102-104 team was up bright and early for a live broadcast from the Riverside Suites in Sligo who once again gave the iStaff VIP treatment all the way.
